I swear, this tie from Vanda must be bullet-proof. Amazing silk…..

When you really mean business go for a three-piece suit in a dark colour, like the navy birdseye in the picture above, and combine it with sombre accessories. The only frivolity in today’s outfit is the pocket square, which really should have been a neatly folded white linen square.

Is it to much to wish for that this is one of the last days this “spring” when a three-piece flannel suit is called for? WIWT Apr 11, 2013
The “blogger blue” jacket, WIWT Mar 27, 2013
I really like the colour on this SC, a slightly lighter shade of blue than your normal navy blazer - usually referred to as “blogger blue” because it receives a lot of love from the #menswear crowd. I like to wear it like today - with a crisp, white shirt and a simple navy cashmere tie. The SC is from Dunhill and made out of 100% mohair cloth which gives it an interesting texture and just enough shine that you won’t confuse it with a regular wool jacket. A nice complement to what I usually wear.

District checks or gun club? I remain puzzled…

The light-grey flannel trousers worn in these pictures are probably the softest wool trousers I own. Nevertheless, I find that I rarely wear them and it has slowly dawned upon me why I don’t. I have increasingly started to wear my trousers on my natural waist, using braces and/or side-adjusters, and I am really starting to feel uncomfortable wearing low-cut trousers that need a belt to stay in place. So these trousers, as nice as they are, are likely on their way out of my wardrobe.
